FAQs

  • What are some of the must-see Redwood trees?

There are several trees in Redwood National Park that you should make time for. First off, there’s the Big Tree, which is approximately 1,500 years old. The Corkscrew Tree has a unique look due to the fact that it has four trunks intertwined together, all reaching towards the sky. In addition, the rare Albino Redwood, aka the Christmas Tree, is worth checking out. And as its name implies, the Shrine Drive-Thru Tree allows you to drive your car through it.
  • What’s the best place to start my visit?

If you’re coming to Redwood National Park for the first time, you’ll definitely want to head to one of the five visitor centers. All of them have plenty of information to help you plan your adventure. There are also ranger-led programs that provide a terrific overview. You’ll find exhibits and a short introductory video at Kuchel Visitor Center, which is the largest of the centers. It also provides access to the beach.
